How L.E.D Lights Can Cause Problems With Your Garage Door Opener

by Sara

There is not anything much more frustrating than not being able to open your garage door when returning home from a long day at work. One day your garage door opener could working perfectly and the next day issues could be flaring up. One of the most COMMON issues that people do not know is that having an L.E.D lightbulb WILL affect the performance of your Garage door opener. The reason behind this issue are the frequencies of both your lightbulb and the opener itself. Garage door openers are made to function up to 360 MHz, while L.E.D’s are only made to function up to 300 MHz. This causes an interference between the two which will cause your even brand new garage door opener to not work appropriately.

The SOLUTION:

  1. 1
    Ditch your L.E.D Lightbulb
  2. 2
Choose either a fluorescent or incandescent light bulb (will not interfere and good source of lighting)
